Matthew D. McCoy - Real Estate Agent
About Matthew D.
Years ago, while my wife and I were looking for a new home for our growing family, we discovered just how important it is to have a knowledgeable and trustworthy agent to represent you in what is likely the largest and most important purchase you will make in your lifetime. There we were, a two-week-old baby girl, a leaking roof, an HVAC system that need to be replaced (which had mysteriously been in working order when it was inspected), and water standing in the crawl space. Many sleepless nights and tens of thousands of dollars later, I realized a new passion in life. Now, I use my personal experiences and knowledge gained to produce the very best results for my clients.
I am originally from the beautiful resort town of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. I moved to
Columbia, South Carolina in 2006 to pursue my academic interests at the University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!!!). From there, I served the citizens of Columbia, SC as a police officer and criminal investigator with the Columbia Police Department. My career as a law enforcement officer taught me the value of building relationships, networking with peers, and building rapport with those I interacted with. I also gained a unique insight into the greater Columbia area. I learned how important safety and security is to homeowners, especially when those homeowners are pursuing their social and financial goals. I learned how property values in certain areas could appreciate based upon how safe the surrounding neighborhoods were. I also learned how access to quality schools can change a family's future. I put the lessons learned in this unique career to work for my clients every day.
Now I, along with my wife and daughters, reside in Chapin, South Carolina, the Capital of Lake Murray. We selected this community for its beauty, access to award-winning schools, and its coastal feel. We love this community, and I love representing it to every prospective client who is looking for that one of a kind place to call home. Of course, I would love the opportunity to help make it your home as well.
